Reconciliation

“And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” John 20 : 22-23

It is through the sacrament of Reconciliation ( Confession) or Penance, that we open our hearts to God - who through his love, compassion and mercy, desires to free us from the burden of sin by His forgiveness mediated through the Priest and to fill us with his peace.

The Catholic tradition sees the work of Salvation, not as a one-off experience but an ongoing journey. It acknowledges our human frailty, the effect of Original Sin and our proneness to sin.

Reconciliation Rite I is available at St Michael’s:
Saturday 8.30am, Sunday 4.30pm or by appointment.
