The term Sacraments refers to the sacred signs that mark stages of the Catholic faith journey.

Becoming Church

How do we prepare children for Reconciliation,Confirmation & First Holy Communion

Emma Houghton, co-ordinates the Becoming Church programme which prepares children (together with their parents) for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, Confirmation and Eucharist (First Holy Communion).

Enrolment for the programme is offered to children 8-10 years (as at the date of First Holy Communion), Year 4 and up. Children need to be baptised to receive the Sacraments.  Children older than 10 years old should contact CJ at to discuss individual requirements.

We believe that parents are the first teachers of the faith, and so share with their children in preparing for First Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Holy Communion.

The programme begins with a parent meeting in November and children's classes begin in April each year.
